Books to read this Christmas
Christmas is a time for celebration, family and friends. What’s more, it provides a great opportunity to unwind and reflect on the year that has just passed. 2020 has been a year like no other, with ups and downs, disruption and for many, the loss of loved ones. It is safe to say that this year really hasn’t been easy for anyone. Christmas, I hope, is a safe haven for all of us where we can surround ourselves with family and friends and celebrate a little. For me personally, I’m looking forward to a good rest so that I can go into next year feeling recharged and ready for what the future will bring.
One thing I do know is that I want to go into the new year with fresh thoughts, perspectives and to be appreciative for what I already have. As many unknowns and challenges await us, we can be sure of the fact that many of the problems we will face are not necessarily unique. A number of those seemingly insurmountable challenges have been tackled and overcome by those who have lived and gone before us. There is a lot to be learnt from these people, especially those who have taken the time to put their learnings and struggles down on paper for the world to see.
With that being said, I thought I would share a few books that I have gained a lot from and that I think others will too. Some of these books will excite you, motivate you to dream big and a few may even make you cry. All in all, even if you just read one of them I think that you will be glad that you did!
