Books to read this summer

In my opinion, there really is no better time to pick up and enjoy a new book than during the summer months. For me, the summer provides an opportunity to read books that are engrossing, flow well and most importantly, are hard to put down! Despite this, one of the big challenges I often find is figuring out what to read. When this happens, I turn to family and friends who I know will have just finished something fascinating. So, while I cannot guarantee you good weather, what I can do is suggest four books which I think are simply excellent. Enjoy!

The Spy and the Traitor - Ben MacIntyre

A book about an audacious KGB agent wishing to defect to the West that is almost too unbelievable to be true. A nail-biting Cold War read that kept me guessing right to the very end.

The Road - Cormac McCarthy

This book was impossible to put down and I couldn’t help but finish it in a single day. A story of a man and his son seeking refuge in an America where nothing remains. A true post-apocalyptic classic that won the Pulitzer Prize.

Black Edge - Sheelah Kolhatkar

If you like Michael Lewis and fly on the wall accounts this is a stellar story of the battle between billionaire hedge fund manager Steven Cohen and the United States government. A true story of cat and mouse where the line between right and wrong is quickly blurred.

The Psychology of Money - Morgan Housel

I struggle to think of another book that is packed with as much wisdom around money, wealth and the dangers of having too much of it. This is a quick read with an awesome message.
